You need one of three hardware options: (1) a USB-C IR adapter dongle ($5-10, plugs into your iPhone), (2) a WiFi IR hub like BroadLink RM4 Mini or Tuya Smart Life hub placed near your AC, or (3) a smart AC with built-in WiFi (Daikin, Gree, Midea, AUX, TCL).
Tap the feedback button (?) on the remote screen and submit your brand/model. We add new brands weekly. If you have the original remote and a BroadLink or Tuya hub, you can use the IR Learning feature to capture your own codes.
When testing codes, make sure to cycle through ALL code sets by tapping "No" until you find one that works. Most brands have 5-10+ code sets. Also check that your IR adapter is plugged in correctly or your WiFi hub has line-of-sight to the AC unit.
Go to iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > AC Remote > Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of your billing period.

First set up the BroadLink device using the BroadLink app (so it joins your WiFi). Then in AC Remote, go to Devices > Scan for Devices. The hub will appear automatically if your phone is on the same network.
